The group now has seven rations each after consumption. Jables composed and performed a song about bats during the rest, earning the party inspiration. Approached the town of Vallaki, which appeared as a sullen mountain settlement surrounded by wooden palisades and fog. Wolf heads on pikes flank the roadside outside the iron gates. Entering Vallaki, initial observations. The party discussed whether to stop in town with Ismark and Ivan. Ismark shared gossip about Vallaki. Purple flashes of light from Burgermaster's mansion attic. Lady Fiona potentially trying to usurp the Burgermaster. Um... Town Square features stocks with people wearing plaster donkey heads as punishment. Proclamations posted about mandatory wolf head jamboree attendance. We discovered Rectavio's Carnival Wagon at Asick Stockyard. We found Blinsky's Toy Shop with the sign "Is no fun, is no Blinsky" connected to the malformed doll from Gertrude. And then we went to the Blue Water Inn. We entered the inn. Notable for wolf head decorations and ravens perched outside. We attempted to communicate with ravens, use and speak with animals, but the ravens flew north without responding. We met the innkeepers, Erwin and his wife. Ordered Red Dragon Crush wine. Two silver per pitcher. We bought a few pitchers. Several pitchers. Secured two rooms for two silver total and Jables performed music in the inn impressing the owners. Meeting the Wolf Hunters. We met Evgeny and Zoldar, Wolf Hunters who frequent the inn. Jables competed in a drinking contest with them and won decisively. We learned that wolves are under Strahd's control. Wolf Hunters expressed frustration with the Burgermaster's weekly mandatory festivals. Anyone who speaks against the festivals is placed in stacks. Rictavio's true identity was revealed. Gray approached a half-elephant in the corner who stood out as the only other non-human. The man introduced himself as Rictavio, carnival ringmaster trapped in Barovia for ten years, told the terror of vampire hunters who killed Nosferatu, but became a vampire in the process. Iridal noticed the Grey discussing them and confronted the conversation. Octavia questioned if Iridal was a vampire. Iridal responded, not technically. After the party moved to a private room, Octavia revealed his true form, Blade, a dampier vampire hunter. And we formed an alliance with Blade. Blade's mission is to slay Strahd. Blade gathered gathering information on the were-ravens who oppose Strahd. Suspects, uh, suspects innkeeper Erwin is a were-raven. Blade knows Fashtani and the inn serve as Strahd's spies. The party shared Nest of Ravens card reading with Blade. Blade suggests attacking Erwin about the card. Blade proposed mutual assistance. Help the innkeeper find missing wine shipments, and Blade will help the party defeat hags in, uh, at the windmill. The wine comes from Wizard of Wine's vineyard near Kresk. And we agreed to the alliance. The plans and next steps. The intended route, Kresk, to deliver Ismark and Ivan, Wizard of Wines, return wine to the inn, defeat the hags of the Windmill Blade. We revealed, oh, we leveled up to level four after forming an alliance with Blade. Limited shopping opportunities in Vallaki due to scarcity. And then it has some action items. Important NPCs and locations. Erwin is the Incapure Bluewater Inn. Blade is the vampire hunter seeking stride. Evgeny and Zoldy are wolf hunters critical of the Burgermaster, and the Burgermaster of Wallachia holds mandatory weekly festivals. Lady Fiona is a powerful figure potentially plotting to usurp the Burgermaster, and the Wizard of Wines is a vineyard that supplies all wine in Barovia. That is the summary.
